Frequently Asked Questions

For Educators

  • We plan to open up applications in spring 2023. Sign up for our newsletter to stay updated.

  • Fellows should expect to spend 3-4 hours per week on Vocal Justice. This includes time for lesson prep and facilitation, as well as required monthly cohort programming and administrative tasks. All fellows must engage a consistent group of at least 15 students in our program for one school year, and have support from their school leadership.

For Youth

  • With the support of a teacher, yes! Teachers who are part of our Teacher Fellowship can start a Vocal Justice club with a student.

  • Check out our database of youth leadership and advocacy opportunities. More to come as we grow.

  • We LOVE having students on our team. Check out the “Join Us” page for opportunities to get involved, and sign up for our newsletter to get email announcements about future jobs if none are listed there now.

For School Leaders

  • Yes! Email us at info@vocaljustice.org to learn more and discuss pricing.

  • We’d love to make that work. Through our Teacher Fellowship, we seek to have fellows from many schools. However, we also have programming we can do with teachers and students outside of the Teacher Fellowship. Once we know more about your district, we can give a definitive answer on whether we have capacity to partner with you. Email us at info@vocaljustice.org to learn more.

For Community Organizations

  • Not yet, but soon! There are so many dope community organizations that we want to partner with. If you’re interested in bringing our work to your organization in the coming year, email us at info@vocaljustice.org.

  • We can’t wait to hear about it. Email us at info@vocaljustice.org.

General

  • Teachers can participate in our Teacher Fellowship for free. In fact, we pay teacher fellows to participate. For a reasonable fee, schools can get access to our teacher training and youth curriculum without being part of the Teacher Fellowship. Email us at info@vocaljustice.org to learn more.

  • We started running pilots of our program in summer 2019 in Boston, MA.
